Thanks to the internet,
private networks and technological advances in telecommunications networks and features (such as the 800 number that can be 'pointed' virtually anywhere), thousands of customer service jobs, as well as help desk, technical support, voice verification, research and survey work, and quality assurance, can be done from the comfort of your own home. If you are an effective verbal communicator with a good attitude and a basic home office, you can work at home in customer service or similiar types of work at home jobs!
No customer service job should cost a fee to start. Some companies, however, may assess charges to applicants for background checks, software licensing or other costs.
In many cases, customer service experience is helpful but may not be required, and little more is needed than being a good verbal communicator, internet access and a PC, a separate phone line and a quiet area that has no background noise.
