I found the word teleconference in my 696-page dictionary (tel'e-con'fer-ence n. a conference of persons in different locations, as by telephone, TV, etc.), but not the word telecommute.
And it wasn't to be found in my 962 page Thesaurus either.
The term telecommuting job, a job in which one performs his or her work remotely or from a separate location (my own definition) was also painfully absent, as was the term telecommuter.
So I'm writing my own. Add what you'd like. Everyone's joyful definition is different.
"Telecommuting Job", n., a manner of employment in which one is able to work from the comfort of their own home, often able to set one's own work schedule and hours, and work in peace... a type of job which empowers and frees our physical bodies, our minds and spirits and brings freedom, peace, and harmony to our lives by allowing us to find balance, spend more time with the ones we love (even if that's only ourselves) and eliminating the daily, miserable pollution-sucking exercise of driving to work amidst a sea of equally miserable and angry commuters.
For many, telecommuting means pure happiness. What's your definition?
